Leadership Lessons From Life’s Most Powerful Question.

In all my presentations, workshops and courses I talk about the question, “What’s Important Now?”, which I refer to as Life’s Most Powerful Question. Here is a partial list of things that should be important now to you as a leader.

What’s Important Now? Be intentional and deliberate about leadership and leading.

What’s Important Now? Be intentional about building and sustaining great culture.

What’s Important Now? Focus on what you control and control the controllable.

What’s Important Now? Take the blame and give away the credit.

What’s Important Now? Stand up and own up when you screw up.

What’s Important Now? Understand that burnout is an organizational issue. Leadership is the antidote and the cure.

What’s Important Now? Care about your people and let them know you care about your them.

What’s Important Now? Create a culture where everyone accepts responsibility and invites accountability.

What’s Important Now? Stay curious and always be learning.

What’s Important Now? Continually hang a question mark on things you have long taken for granted.

What’s Important Now? Listen like every sentence matters, talk like every word counts and act like every interaction is important.

What’s Important Now? Make your people your number one priority.

What’s Important Now? Train your people. Trust your people. Provide guidelines and guardrails and then give them the authority to make decisions and solve problems.

What’s Important Now? Do what’s right.

What’s Important Now? Embrace the struggle. Embrace the suck. Look for the learning. Look for the good. Dare to be Great.

What’s Important Now? Develop a Growth Mindset.

What’s Important Now? Play the Infinite Game.

What’s Important Now? Do what you say you will do.

What’s Important Now? Treat everyone with respect and dignity.

Remember that leadership is a choice and a journey, and it starts with you. Choose well, keep learning, and enjoy the journey.
